Eating Habits and Metabolism
Welcome Back, Welcome Back, Welcome Back!!! (Mase voice) Did you get that good ol’ workout in??? I hope you broke a sweat because I know I did. Now that we have got that out of the way, let’s focus on your eating habits and how your metabolism works. It’s not only what you eat, but you also have to watch how much you eat. Your body works with food in mysterious ways. According to dietary guidelines, you should be eating constantly throughout the day; three big meals and two snacks in between them. Your metabolism speeds up and slows down according to how often you eat, how much you exercise, your age, your sex, and how much muscle you have. The more you eat and exercise, the faster it will be. When you have a fast metabolism, your body is able to digest and excrete food much quicker decreasing piled up fat. As with anything, too much isn’t good.
You should never consume too much or exercise beyond your means. As stated in the last column, the key is balance. Always keep that in mind when practicing healthy eating and exercise habits. In order to have good eating habits, you have to monitor what you eat. You should always make sure you have a little bit of something from each food group; including the veggies! What each group entails can be easily found online. Be mindful that a good night’s sleep is always the cherry on top to this whole regimen.
Once you create good exercise and eating habits, you will start to see dramatic changes in your weight and your overall well-being. Your body will feel better than it’s ever felt before, and you’ll start to feel like a brand new man or woman. Tune in next week to find out what the heck is in the food you eat! Until next time…
